International visitors are being exposed to the tangible excitement, mounting national spirit and overall fanaticism that currently surrounds the approaching kick-off of Africa’s first FIFA World Cup event. Escalating hype aside, opportunities continue to multiply for the average South African on the ground; not excluding the youth.
Of all the opportunities related to this soccer spectacular, promotions and hospitality play a crucial role. These are some of the more common areas in which students and graduates are being employed and as such are able to gain practical skills whilst working on an international event of epic proportions.
Isilumko Media, powered by Studentwise, is particularly proud to be involved in and support the development of South African youth. They will be using local talent in the provision of hospitality related services to scores of soccer fans on behalf of impressive international and local brands such as Budweiser, MTN and the South African Post Office.
AB InBev’s Budweiser brand has put together a collection of services that will keep their guests from around the globe entertained and high-spirited. Isilumko Media’s “BudGirl” Promoters and Hosts will be the force behind the hospitality program, touring with the high profile Budweiser group, keeping the itinerary on track and making all visitors feel welcome. This includes the role of multilingual hostesses conversing with guests in an array of languages including Chinese, Russian and Spanish. Furthermore at the hotels the Hospitality Desk teams will provide a specialist concierge service to the group. Also keep eyes peeled for our gorgeous South African “BudGirls” at the Budweiser Beer Gardens that will be erected in and around the stadia.
MTN’s sports marketing partner has also opted to use Isilumko Media, powered by Studentwise, to provide the very best of our youthful homegrown talent to man the MTN Fan Fest at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Approximately 20 student promoters will be assisting in distributing wrist bands and food and beverage vouchers as well as assisting patrons with seating upon their arrival. Milling through the crowds the team will also have the privilege of handing out various prizes and giveaways on the day including the “MTN Last Minute Ticket”.
Isilumko Media, powered by Studentwise, was also really able to showcase promoters’ varied talents through their role in South African Post Office’s internal public relations drive whereby employees will be taught fun soccer skills and the uniquely South African Diski dance.
