BBBEE transformation is an ongoing process and is one of Isilumko Staffing’s key competitive advantages as a business operating in South Africa. We approach transformation from a comprehensive perspective focusing on ownership, management, employment equity, preferential procurement, enterprise development, corporate social investment and skills development.

Our current BBBEE rating is as follows:
- Empowerdex A-Rating, Level 3, 100% compliant, value added supplier.
- 137.5% Procurement Recognition Level (equivalent of level 1 rating). For every R1 spent with Isilumko Staffing, our clients will receive BBBEE recognition to the value of R1.38.
- Black owned staffing company.
- Majority black ownership (51.2%).
- Female black empowerment is 37.2% of the BBBEE equity portion.
- Substantial black management control.
Our management is directed by the knowledge and understanding that people differ in many ways. The five key factors adopted by Isilumko for managing diversity effectively are:
- Clear articulation of the business case for diversity.
- Clear understanding of our current position.
- Diversity is championed form the top.
- Programs are focused on cultural change rather than just redressing imbalances.
- Broad-based employee engagement and involvement.

It is our belief that we can capitalise on our effective diversity management policies by identifying overlooked cultural markets, creating new services for existing markets, forming relationships and achievement in improved ways. Isilumko is proud of its diversity management achievements to date and will continue to strive for improvement year upon year and set new industry standards as arguably the only national black owned and managed staffing company in the country.
Aside from the legal and technical statutory requirements, Isilumko holds the view that diversity brings thoughts, feelings and cultural knowledge that benefits our decision making and operations, and opens up new sales markets.
We believe that the true power of diversity becomes apparent only when that diversity begins at the top of an organisation and filters down through the business. Isilumko is led by a dynamic black female Nritika Singh, managing director, who has been in this position since 2001. Nritika believes that diversity management encompasses much more than simply that which is visible on the surface. She holds the view that surface diversity is what company’s deal with when they wish to avoid problems. However, it is the diversity within that offers great benefits to an organisation. The invisible diversities, that include acknowledgement of and respect for culture, religion and value systems, are where we believe we can reap real business benefit.
